Prom

Well the problem is you didn’t include the terms on which he invited her. He has cancer and his ‘last wish’ was to have taylor swift go to the prom with him. His sister got the word out and went on her facebook page and viola Taylor heard her and Kevin (the boy with cancer). I think she knew it would cause an uproar so she invited him to the CMAs instead :) But I guess if it was someone other than Taylor Swift I can see how that would be a problem. Someone of immoral status is not something of which a school should condone.

I have been bullied from the 4th grade on so I know how it feels. I’ve even been bullied from the past from people around me here today. Bullying is serious. Regardless of what you say or how you say it bullying is what it is. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like a certain race, gender, sexual orientation or religion, there is no room for bullying. It makes me mad when I see students or even teachers preach bullying. Being at a Christian school sexual orientation and religion seem to be a huge issue. We are sometimes preached that being anything but straight is cause enough to bring down and hurt those who aren’t, that it is alright to treat them any less of a human being. Same goes for religion, just because someone does not believe the same as you or me or we might, it doesn’t give us any right to call them out for it or make fun of them or hurt them.

“Judge not, lest ye not be judged.” (Matthew 7:1)

I am the least discriminative person I know and it hurts me to see others so carelessly bring others down. It doesn’t matter to me if you are my closest friend, family or senior, I will never hesitate to call someone out against bullying.

We had something at Holt High that was life changing. It’s called “Challenge Day”. It challenges students to step out and take a good look at yourself and everyone around you. I know after that day of challenge day I came out viewing everyone differently. I suggest you look at this, it is definitely worth checking out J

Learning Online

I associate more with the student who prefers in class learning.  I do best when I see something be explained and written out. I’m a very visual person and having things out in text is not always the most helpful.  That being said seeing as I’ve already had an online class and was close to failing half the time of the class, I can say for sure that an online class is not a good idea.  Mr. Burke if you are reading this, PLEASE take this into consideration and TAKE ME OUT OF MY ONLINE CLASS!!!!!!!!!

6 Characteristics:

 responsible

open

motivated

committed

not a procrastinator

independent

“Learning online is becoming more and more prevalent in schools. While learning online is a very
convenient thing for people who are ready for it, there are many people in society that find many difficulties
with online learning. Before signing up for an online class, it is a good idea to do a self analysis and honestly
determine if learning online is right for you.”

Stopped and taken a step back. My observation online and in person is the same. I have a zero tolerance for bullying and regardless if I am close to this person or not I am not afraid to call someone out on their wrongs.

Questioning the Bible

How come in the old testament incest was not viewed as a wrong against god but is later spoken as being a wrong against god? What changed?

Does Anyone Hear Her?

I liked the story line and the ending where it comes full circle.

I didn’t like how true some of this is was that even people who have faith in god and go to church cannot see past the outward appearance and the olive branch is not extended.

And of course I feel like this a lot of times especially as one of the least religious people in this school.

Religion- Word of God vs Actions of God

First off, that example is not really a good one as they are only singers lyrics are lyrics.

I totally disagree. Spreading the word of god and living the word of god is two WAYYY different things. Take the crusades for example.

Falling

Everyone falls, some harder than others, longer than others, faster than others. What really matters is the getting up. 3 years back I had an incident where it took me years to get back up and forgive and forget. I was hurt and fell hard, long and fast. The getting up took a long time and the scratches and bruises hurt but time has healed those. I still have those scars and they are ugly but at least I am healed.
